Common causes of engine running rich in VW Golf are defective or dirty MAF sensor, bad upstream O2 sensor, malfunctioning fuel pressure regulator, leaky injector and faulty engine zoomzoom Discussion starter. 2 posts · Joined 2012. #1 · Aug 4, 2012. COLEMAN TOKEI @colemantokei. My daughter’s 2003 Mk4 VW Golf wouldn’t start all of a sudden, after performing flawlessly for 2 years after purchasing it used with 230,000 kms on it. Turned out that we had to replace the Speed Sensor. In Vancouver BC, that turned out to be a $500.00 CAD job. Nah, its a 1.6 16V MKIV, don't think FSi cam ein those cars. And I'm preety sure that the 1.6 16V engine in the MKIV is not deisgned to run on specifcally 98 RON fuel, unlike S3 / R32 would be. 95ROZ is 98RON, IMO. Therefore, if its designed to run on 98ROZ that must be like 101RON or soemthing which is daft. 7b9rv.
